Where are We?

Church car park entrance

We are situated in Woodley, a town on the east edge of Reading.
We are situated on Crockhamwell Road, Woodley, RG5 3LA,
among housing not far from the town centre shops
(continue along the road past the Waitrose car park and down the hill).
We are on the corner at the south end of Arundel Road.

The entrance to the church car park is in Arundel Road (west side) - to the right of centre in the picture.

There are additional parking spaces at the rear of the church (drive to the left of the buildings).
There two disabled spaces in front of the halls entrance and two more as you head to the rear park.
If the car park is full, on-street parking is free in nearby streets.
Also nearby is the short-stay (two hours) public car park by Waitrose, continue westward along Crockhamwell Road and the entrance is on the right. This is has a special cheap longer-stay evening rate (from 18:00-22:00), and is less than five minutes walk back to the church. This is recommended for large evening events such as concerts.

Woodley Bus

If coming from Reading by bus you can use any of the Reading Buses orange Woodley routes (buses are usually Orange but sometimes a grey/silver one is used, especially on a Sunday).

If on the 13, get off at the Mulberry Close stop at the top of Nightingale Road (walk to the end of Nightingale Road and turn left - you will see the church ahead on the other side).

If on the 14, get off at the Chequers stop in Headley Road and walk through the precinct and down the hill (10 minutes), or stay on the bus as it loops around the Woodley Airfield and get off at the Mulberry Close stop at the top of Nightingale Road (walk back to the end of Nightingale Road and turn left - you will see the church ahead on the other side).

If on a 19a (a single deck bus, usually a Little Orange), get off at Drovers Way Top stop in Crockhamwell Road and walk down the hill to the church.

If travelling towards Reading get off at Drovers Way Top stop in Crockhamwell Road and walk down the hill (19c), at Mulberry Close (14) or the Chequers stop in Beechwood Avenue (13).

You can check your bus's punctuality on bustimes.org.

Courtney's route 128 (Wokingham-Twyford-Reading) and 127 (Maidenhead-Twyford-Reading on Saturdays) stop at the Chequers' during daytime, but their 129 and the Arriva 850 (High Wycombe-Twyford-Reading) stop further away from the church at Shepherd's Hill.

Woodley Bus

If coming by train our nearest station is Earley on the Reading to Waterloo line. Cross the motorway by the footbridge and turn right. Follow the road (Nightingale Road) until its end and turn left (approximately 20-25 minutes), or take a series of lefts and rights through the estates and around the South Lake (15-20 minutes).
