Welcome to Junior Church!

Children and Young People join the congregation for the first part of the 10:30 service before adjourning to the Junior Church session after the second hymn, which they and their teachers select and introduce with a prayer. Occasionally there will be services where the young people will remain for the whole service with the older congregation, often during holiday periods when the teachers are not available. During these services activities for the young people, such as colouring or craft, will be available at the back of the church.

We start encouraging children to come out to Junior Church from the age of 3 years, and our older young people are encouraged to come and help with the younger ones. All ages of young people are currently meeting together for fun, study and worship. However, for some activities we split into groups by age, so that each child is challenged to their appropriate level.

Every child is valued, and we learn more together about God and Jesus through stories and drama, craft, singing and praying together. We look forward to welcoming you to our Junior Church.

(Those with children of several ages should note that creche facilities are available during the 10:30 service, for babies, toddlers and their carers.)

Other Activities for Children

Once a month, on the second Sunday afternoon (except in August), we have Messy Church.

Both Boys' Brigade and Girls' Brigade have companies based at Christ Church, we are connected to two Scout packs and there is a Brownie pack that meets in our halls.

In August we have our famous Holiday Bible Club week.
